City of Athens Chorus
The City of Athens Chorus presents the choral works of Mikis Theodorakis. In the beginning of the 80s, and more specifically in 1982, the composer writes “Missa Greca” (The Greek Holy Mass), in text by Saint John the Chrysostom for a solo voice (Priest) and a capella mixed chorus. Pieces of the work will be interpreted during this concert with the tenor Yannis Christopoulos as the Priest.
In the second part of the evening the works “Deserters”, “Mauthausen” and “Epiphany” in a version created for an a cappella chorus that the composer wrote in 1983.
