Babylon Orchester Berlin
In collaboration with the Greek Film Archive and the Babylon Orchestrer Berlin, Olympia presents the iconic science fiction film “Metropolis”. Fritz Lang’s silent masterpiece will be screened in a restored version accompanied by live music performed by the Babylon Orchestrer Berlin, under the baton of the renowned Greek conductor Stefanos Tsialis. The original music for the film, whose production was completed in Germany in 1927, was composed by Gottfried Huppertz.
Timothy Grossman is the director of the Babylon cinema, the only cinema worldwide that specializes in the screening of silent films with live music accompaniment. Hans Brandner is the artistic director of the orchestra and its permanent collaborator.
