The baritone Tasis Christogiannopoulos was born in Piraeus. Since 1989 he has been a leading performer in productions of the National Opera and the Athens Concert Hall, as well as in the most important theatres worldwide, including France, England, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, America, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, etc. His repertoire includes leading roles in such plays as The Barber of Seville, Macbeth, Don Giovanni, Don Carlos, Traviata, The Magic Flute, Eugene Onegin, Faust, Hamlet, Hamlet, A Dance of Disguises, Falstaff, The Troubadour, Simon Bocanegra, Wozek, and others. In addition to recordings of operatic works (Tamerlane, Traviata, Falstaff, Perseus, Phaedra, Vertheros, etc.) and songs by French composers (Saint-Saëns, David, Anne, Gounod, Godard, etc. He has collaborated with many Greek composers and recorded their works (Hadjidakis, Theodorakis, Mamagakis, Kouroupou, Kypourgou, Xydakis, Mikroutsikos, Markopoulou, etc.). At the same time he composes music. His works have been performed in Greece and abroad. He was awarded the “Golden Orpheus” by the French Academy of Recordings as “Best Performer of French Songs”.
